UC3843D STEP-UP for supplying of notebook in car. Introduction presents dividing of switching power supplies followed by a choice and a proposal of power supply. In this work we can find the specific proposal of inductor, the proposal of electronic connexion and the proposal of PCB layout. In the last part of work there are particular courses of current and voltage that characterize power supply pictured. The work contains measured load characteristic of switching power supply loaded by notebook as well. Notebooks need to have quality power supplies that is why there was a special attention paid to the quality of supply and its electric parameters.
The notebook represents a variable load for the inverter. The current size depends on the load notebook processor, optical drive, hard drive, and charging battery. The drive was tested for the ACER Travelmate 2313 notebook with a 1.5Ghz processor and at different loads. The following table shows the size

All these UC3843D circuits have an identical internal connection. The characteristic features of these DC DC Step-up circuits are:
· Optimized for DC/DC converters
· Low current consumption
· The ability to work up to 500 kHz
· Surge protection and overvoltage protection
· UVLO circuit with hysteresis (switching and tripping characteristic of the circuit)
· Minimum external components
· Maximum working voltage 36V
For our application, an UC3843D integrated circuit has been selected in the SMD design with the designation UC3843D
Circuit UC3843D
This type of circuit works from the supply voltage of 8.4V. That’s why he has done it for use
in the car’s power network. The following figure shows the design and marking of the outlets

The power diode was implemented using the MBR 2545CT. This is a fast double shottky diode for power supplies. Its case is identical to the power case design transistor, that is, D2PAK.
