The programming circuit can program PIC30F series dspic and other classic pic microcontrollers. The software used is Win Pic Programmer computer connection, supply voltage max. 16 volts dc via serial port (rs232). There is also a 40 pin 8, 20 converter PCB design.
Low cost programmer for DsPICs and PICs
This low cost unit can program all dsPIC30F series microcontrollers and most PIC microcontrollers in the DIP package. Standard parts are easy to create and use.
PICs, the product of Microchip company, are one of the most widely used microcontrollers. Like all microcontrollers, they greatly simplify many electronic designs, are reconfigurable in the field, and allow for simple or overly complex projects to be done without them.
PIC dsPIC Programmer
Although the PIC microcontroller family is well known, Microchip also manufactures the lesser known dsPIC30F microcontroller series.
These are microcontrollers with peripherals similar to those found in standard PICs but with an advanced instruction set supplemented with DSP (digital signal processing) type operations. They are 16-bit microcontrollers and are surprisingly powerful, running at speeds of tens of MIPs (millions of instructions per second).
Dedicated single-cycle DSP operations such as MAC (multiplication and accumulation) enable them to perform real-time signal processing using multiple 40-bit accumulators. It also includes hardware multiplication and division and has surprisingly fast ADC summing modes. These features make them suitable for many digital signal processing applications.
