Metal Detector Circuit PIC12F683 Microcontroller

Simple metal detector circuit with PIC12F683. A simple application software that can be an example for making a metal detector with PIC was prepared with microc. A coil between 10uh…..300uh is used as a metal sensor, and when metal is approached to the coil, it emits LED light. The supply of the metal detector circuit is 5 volt dc.

The PIC watchdog is used as an internal time reference to detect changes in the main oscillator frequency. By comparing the frequencies of both oscillators, it indicates whether a piece of metal is near the coil by flashing the LED

Simple and inexpensive metal detector based on PIC. The idea of this circuit is to break the PIC oscillator circuit by replacing the crystal with a coil: the frequency of the oscillator depends on the presence of metal near the coil, as in a classical metal detector.

We use PIC WDT as an internal time reference to detect changes in the master oscillator frequency.

By comparing the frequency of both oscillators, we can tell if there is a piece of metal near the coil and then light an LED.
