Carbon monoxide alarm circuit, which detects using the MQ-7-CO Sensor, operates on the PIC16F88 Microcontroller, the operating voltage is 12v dc, it detects carbon monoxide and pulls the 12v relay in the circuit according to the level, whatever is connected to the relay (siren, lamp, etc.) is working.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a fairly simple gas consisting of one carbon and one oxygen atom. However, significant amounts of carbon monoxide (CO) are toxic because it affects the transport of oxygen in our blood. One of the main problems is that CO has 200 times greater affinity for hemoglobin in your blood.

It literally prevents the blood supply from carrying oxygen around the body and most importantly in the brain. When the brain suffers from oxygen starvation, permanent damage and even death can result in a surprisingly short time – just a few minutes.

The CO sensor goes through a 150 second cycle, clears itself for one minute, and looks for carbon monoxide for the next 90 seconds. When CO is detected, the output resistance drops significantly.
